Writing Across Cultures: Five sessions

From African Drum Song to Blues, Ghazal to Haiku, Villanelle to the Zoo, this workshop stimulates the writing of poetry and lyrical prose. Examples and exercises from many cultures (with ethnographies) awaken your creative flow. Five weeks includes guided writing prompts and feedback with five warm up exercises from Edna Kovacs' book, Writing Across Cultures: A Handbook On Writing Poetry & Lyrical Prose.

Writing The Inner Landscape: Five sessions

Explore the mountains, arroyos and seascapes of who you are, once were and will be using photographs as a medium upon which to write persona and spirit of place poetry and prose. Guided writing prompts and examples will be provided from Edna Kovacs' books, In A Place Called Sanctuary and Writing With Multiple Intelligences.
